Stamford man survives cardiac emergency to attend daughter’s wedding

STS member, Dr. Michael Coady, Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Stamford Hospital, performed a 9-hour surgery, saving the life of a patient who suffered an aortic dissection. “John had blood accumulating around his heart, and his blood pressure was in the 60s,” Dr. Coady said. “We had literally seconds to get in there and relieve tension and get him on cardiac pulmonary bypass.”
