“Reanimation” played a key role in a first-of-its-kind heart transplant performed at Duke University Medical Center.

STS members Drs. Jacob Schroder, Benjamin Bryner, and Carmelo Milano led the team that brought a heart back to life before transplanting it into a military veteran. This was the first time such an approach was used on an adult in the US.
